Nasolabial Filler

What is Nasolabial Filler?

Nasolabial filling is the process of filling the deep nasolabial folds, starting from the wings of the nose and going down to the corner of the mouth, with filling material. This process is usually performed using filler materials such as hyaluronic acid. Nasolabial folds are deep lines on the face that occur due to aging, genetic factors or environmental factors. This filling process aims to give the face a younger and more vibrant appearance by filling these lines with filling material. Nasolabial filler is also called “fine line filler.”

Who Can Have Nasolabial Filling?

Nasolabial filling application can generally be applied to healthy adults. People with deepened nasolabial folds or signs of facial aging may prefer this procedure. However, people with any health problems or allergies are recommended to consult a specialist before resorting to the filling procedure.

How is Nasolabial Filling Done?

The nasolabial filling process includes the following steps:

  • Examination and Planning: Before the procedure, a specialist doctor is examined and the area to be treated is evaluated. The amount of procedure and the type of filling material are determined according to the needs of the patient.
  • Anesthesia: Before the procedure, the application area is anesthetized with local anesthesia, so the patient does not feel pain during the procedure.
  • Filler Injection: Hyaluronic acid or a similar filling material is injected into the numb area. Injections can be made into different skin layers depending on the depth of the nasolabial fold and the need.
  • Termination: When the injections are completed, the procedure ends and the patient can immediately return to daily activities.

When Are the Effects of Nasolabial Filling Seen?

The effects of nasolabial filler begin to be seen immediately, but side effects such as swelling or redness may occur immediately after application. These side effects disappear within a few days. The final effects and results of the filler become fully apparent within a few weeks after application due to the water absorbing ability of hyaluronic acid.

How Long Is The Permanence Of Nasolabial Filling?

The permanence of nasolabial filling may vary depending on the filling material used, the patient’s metabolism and lifestyle. Generally, the effects last between 9 and 18 months. However, the effect of the filling decreases over time and it may be necessary to fill it again.
